Graphic Design
Master-McNeil is unique among naming companies, in that our staff has extensive, degreed, graphic design experience, though we remain a naming-centric firm. This is in contrast to the numerous naming/verbal consultants, populated by word people, ad copywriters, and the occasional linguist. It is also in contrast to the numerous "branding" agencies, which promote naming and design equally but seem to be largely design-driven.
While Master-McNeil does not market or promote our design knowledge, some of our naming clients figure out we have it. From time to time, these clients ask us to extend our insights--gained by creating their new name--to the creation of the graphic expression of that name. These clients' motivation is that we have come to understand them and their company culture and positioning so well, that they prefer not to begin all over again with a whole new graphics supplier.
The Master-McNeil design process, offered only to naming clients, follows a similar creative path as our new name creation. Design Objectives, drawn from the analysis we conducted as part of name development, guide a broad Design Exploration step. With Client Input, this is followed by further Focused Exploration and Refinement. Final Design Alternatives are demonstrated on a selection of Key Applications such as home page, letterhead, business card, etc. Usage Guidelines and Final Art in all required formats are also provided.
