We created the corporate name Illustra Information Technologies for Montage Software. Illustra is an ideal name for this maker of object-relational database systems. Of Latin origin, Illustra suggests clarity of vision, brilliance, and light, and also brings a suggestion of renown and excellence through its association with "illustrious." Illustra was acquired by Informix, now part of IBM.
